The experience
In the heart of the Parma Apennines, in the small village of Corchia, a fascinating exhibition comes to life that tells a story of emigration, dreams and returns. This is the temporary exhibition “Martino Jasoni – The Return”, dedicated to a little-known but extraordinarily expressive and sensitive artist: Martino Jasoni (1901–1957).
The exhibition will be open from 5 July until October, at the following times:
- Saturday and Sunday: 10:00–12:00 and 17:00–19:00
- From 1 to 17 August: every day from 17:00 to 19:00
This cultural activity is designed to accompany the public on an intimate and engaging journey, through paintings, drawings, diaries and writings that narrate Jasoni’s migratory experience. He left for New York as a child, where he trained artistically and cultivated a passion for painting. After 17 years, he returned to Corchia, bringing with him a rich human and creative baggage.
His “return” was not only geographical, but also interior: an existential journey that reflects the experience of many emigrants between hopes, nostalgia, new roots and profound transformations.
An ideal proposal for schools, groups, associations and curious visitors, who wish to explore the link between art and history, between individual identity and collective memory. An experience that invites you to look at the past with new eyes, through the poetic power of art.
