The experience
The main objective of the MAF (Mondo Agricola Ferrarese) is to offer complete documentation on work and life in the Ferrara countryside from the end of the nineteenth century to the first half of the twentieth century. It is not only an agricultural museum, but also a museum of the traditions and customs of Ferrara’s rural past, serving as a cultural meeting point between different generations.
Immerse yourself in the rural world of over 100 years ago, walking through the shops of the peasant village, entering the peasant house and rediscovering the ancient machinery that was used in agriculture in the last century. You will be able to touch the history, exploring every corner and every tool that tells the stories of those who worked the land and built the community.
The MAF offers engaging paths and experiences, such as the “Flavors of Tradition” workshop, where you can learn the authentic recipes of Ferrara cuisine, using local ingredients and traditional preparation methods. Through these activities, the museum not only preserves historical memory, but also creates a direct link with the present, inviting visitors to rediscover and appreciate the value of culinary and cultural traditions.
Join us on this exciting journey through the agricultural and cultural history of our region, and discover how the past can illuminate our future.
