The Emigrant Festival will take place on August 16, 2024 at Mount Moria Park. The festival is organized every year by the Pro Loco of Monastero (a hamlet of the municipality that boasts a very high number of A.I.R.E. members), but this year it will have a more institutional character as it will be at the provincial level in collaboration with this administration and the Piacenza nel mondo association. This occasion is a way for us to bring together fellow citizens who were abroad and to keep their cultural identity alive: a day in which the traditions and customs of the country of origin are celebrated, typical cuisine is eaten and folk dances are danced. We believe that these events are also an important moment of meeting and celebration for our fellow citizens who are abroad and for those who have remained at home. The program of the festival will include the celebration of a Holy Mass, the greeting of the authorities present, the awarding of the meritorious Piacenza people selected by this administration and by the Piacenza nel mondo association, the performance of a musical band that will accompany the procession of the patron saint inside the park, a lunch with typical products prepared by the Pro Loco and finally an afternoon of music with a ballroom dance orchestra.
An area will also be set up within the event where local companies will be able to exhibit their products and carry out tastings.
