The rediscovery and pride of one’s origins wants to be the pretext to invite the Emilia-Romagna people abroad not only to return to Italy for tourism, but also to invite them to invest in revitalizing our territory by creating new outlets for the market not only for tourism.
Specifically, we have noted in our municipal area the strong link of the local community with the Municipality of Le Versoud (France), a suburban town in the heart of Gresivaudan and close to Grenoble.

The municipality of Le Versoud has experienced a strong demographic expansion since the seventies, so much so that the city has grown from 1,500 inhabitants to the current population of about 4740.
Among the current inhabitants there are also Emilia-Romagnoli, some of whom left the Municipality of San Leo on the wave of the economic development of these areas beyond the Alps.
Many live and work there or in the nearby and larger Grenoble, but all remember their roots with joy and when possible return to their “birthplace”, as the Mayor of Le Versoud himself testified to us.

With the aim of establishing permanent relationships of cooperation and exchange that represent a stimulus for the growth of all the sectors that form the civil, social and economic fabric of the city, in July 2023 the Municipalities of San Leo and the Municipality of Le Versoud signed a Twinning Pact aimed at establishing a close collaboration between the Municipalities that can translate into spiritual and material benefits for both communities.

The project proposal of the Municipality of San Leo is therefore aimed at achieving the objectives of art.
2 of the Notice in question through cultural exchange actions, promotion of tourism, strengthening the link between Italy and Italian communities abroad, cultural activities and events for the knowledge of the territory, food and wine and musical traditions.
Below are the main activities that will be carried out in collaboration with the in-house company San Leo 2000.

Visit of residents and Emilia-Romagna residents of Le Versoud in San Leo
3-day trip to San Leo
The action involves the visit of the Emilia-Romagna residents of Le Versoud and nearby areas such as Grenoble to come and visit San Leo to discover our territory for the first time or return to the places of their childhood.
The following activities will be organized over the three days:
Visit to the City of San Leo and its monuments
Renaissance Fortress, Parish Church, Cathedral, Historic Palaces and Convent of Sant’Igne.

Conference at the Pietracuta Theater
A conference/meeting to talk about the migration phenomenon that has involved the people of Emilia-Romagna, with speeches by those directly involved, projection of historical images and old photographs.
Convivial event Event with music and dances of the Romagna tradition by folk groups and musical bands and local gastronomic products.

The activities may also be replicated in favor of other Italian communities abroad
