The performance is the result of a research process around the theme of the “border” developed by Instabili Vaganti, in the international project Beyond Borders, which involved young international dancers, performers and choreographers in the creation of a scenic structure in continuous evolution, which is composed of traditional and ritual performative elements from different cultures, actualized through theater and contemporary dance. The performers dig into their past, their cultural and performative traditions, to understand the present, to tell through gestures, actions, texts and songs, the limits they have had to overcome, the boundaries they have tried to cross to affirm their identity, and the new challenges that await them. Thus, interpersonal reflections emerge that link individual experiences to collective ones, dissecting problems that affect in particular the countries of origin of the artists themselves:

the panic attacks generated by the fear of expressing one’s gender identity, the disillusionment born with the restoration after the Arab Spring, the sharpening of religious differences in tolerant countries such as India, the ordeal of migrants to cross a border. Ritual steps, traditional songs, spiral actions, move the bodies of the performers in space, triggering a dance in constant balance on those thin and invisible lines that separate us and that we have called: “Borders”.
